Krugman on world food crisis

Avery's thoughts: Krugman identifies the problem as large and multifaceted. the solutions he proposes seem incommensurate- ramp up the world food program and pushback against biofuels?

There are other important policy changes possible. For example, according to the erstwhile chief BP economist, oil prices are high and rising for a number of reasons, but perhaps the most important one is speculation on oil futures by Wall Street investors, jittery about the dollar and the stock market. why no mention? this is more in the bad policy bin than the bad luck bin. wall street can be regulated.
